GIIS Noida students showcase exceptional artworks to win at the Zonal HCL Art Competition

‘Healthy Family, Winning Family’ - an Inter-School Art Competition was organized by HCL, Healthcare on 26th April 2017 for students of Grades 2 to 10. It was an initiative taken up by HCL Healthcare on the occasion of World Health Day (7th April 2017). This initiative was aimed at making children aware about need of being healthy, and thereby encouraging these young minds to imagine and express their thoughts on good health through art.

With an objective of educating students about the importance of health, the competition saw participation of 1000+ students from over 20 schools of Delhi Ncr. Schools like Bal Bharti Noida, Ryan International Noida, Ryan International Mayur Vihar Phase 3, Amity International Gurgaon, Scottish High School Gurgaon, KR Mangalam South City Gurgaon, etc. participated in this regional competition.

More than sixty students from Global Indian International School (GIIS) Noida participated in the event i.e. poster making competition for grade 6-10 students, and painting with slogan writing for grade 2-5 students. Each student from the campus participated with full enthusiasm and vigor, and constant motivation from their art teacher Shazia Sadar guided students to perform their best on the topic and presentation of the theme. Students made beautiful artworks and informative posters with catchy slogans and taglines.

Among all the entries, best paintings and posters were shortlisted at school level and the winners were chosen by a panel of judges at GIIS, Noida. The criteria of judgement at school level was: aesthetic sense, concept, presentation, and relevance to the theme, artistic technicality and scientific aspect. 

Two Winners from each group were selected whose entries were sent to the HCL Art Competition to compete at the zonal level. Out of all the entries sent, four students from GIIS Noida were declared winners at school level and received Gold and Silver Medals along with certificates from HCL Healthcare. Students even got gift vouchers from Amazon.

Those who won at the zonal level will now get a chance to compete at state level in coming months.

A mere objective of this art competition helped create awareness in mind of the students, about the importance of healthy habits in order to have a healthier lifestyle and eventually a healthier India.
